vinegar vs lemon juice
caeled, i noticed that you use lemon juice in a number of your recipes. ie--the glass cleaner.

what about vinegar? i use a mixture of vinegar and water to clean glass.

is there a difference in acid content between the two?

i will save citrus rinds and put in a jar with vinegar then use that to clean with in my normal way.

Homemade - Vasoline "Petroleum" Jelly
1 cup Mineral Oil (Baby Oil should work too)
2 ounces by weight of Beeswax

Melt beeswax in double boiler. Stir in mineral oil. When blended well, remove from heat and

Stir until cool.
Store in airtight container.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

Good for dry hands, small wounds, and minor burns to speed healing.

(From Incredible Country Store by Joey Green)

Having made this successfully tonight, I also tried a variation.....

Added several Menthol Crystals to the mix as I was stiring in the mineral oil.
This should make a rather decent "vapor rub" Alah Vics.

I will be testing both later tonight after cooling.

Fabric Softener
Fabric Softener:
Basic Downy (20 Fld Onces) ~$3.99
Dryer sheets (120 count) ~$6.69
Caldera White Tea (40 Count) ~$14.99
Mountain Green (64 Fld Ounces) ~$11.19
I could go on, but I think the above makes my point....

Instead try:
1 Gallon White Vinegar ~$1.50
Add Lemon Juice ~$0.50

I did my Jeans yesterday and they feel softer than they ever did using the commercial products. No unusual scent either.

How much could you save?
